Cornelio Delgado serves as Chief Sustainability Officer for International Operations at Zijin Mining, a tier-one global mining company focused on copper, gold, and zinc, as well as related downstream industries, including EV batteries, mineral processing, and refining. Zijin Mining operates in 18 countries and continues to expand its global footprint, guided by its vision to become a “green, high-tech, leading global mining company.”
With more than two decades of experience in local economic development, impact investing, and industrial value added, Cornelio has held senior sustainability and ESG roles at Orla Mining, First Majestic, and the Lundin Group, and previously served as Deputy Minister of Production and Innovation in Ecuador.
He holds a Master of Public Administration with a focus on Natural Resources Governance from Queen’s University in Canada, and a BA in Environmental Economics.
