Dr. Roberto Ridolfi is an internationally recognized leader in sustainable development, climate finance, energy transition, and international cooperation, currently serving as Vice President of the Africa Climate Energy Nexus (AfCEN), an Africa-led platform focused on accelerating climate-positive growth across the continent.
In this role, he works with governments, development institutions, investors, and private-sector partners to advance renewable energy, climate resilience, sustainable infrastructure, and green investment initiatives throughout Africa.
With more than three decades of experience in international development, Dr. Ridolfi has held senior leadership positions within the European Commission, including Director for Sustainable Growth and Development, where he oversaw programs related to climate action, energy, agriculture, infrastructure, digital transformation, and investment finance. He also served as European Union Ambassador and Head of Delegation in Uganda and the Pacific region, leading strategic partnerships and development cooperation initiatives.
