My interests lie at the intersection between innovation, sustainability, strategy and business.

My mission is to leave this planet and the organizations I work with in better conditions than I joined them.

▪Passionate and experienced leader, manager and civil / environmental engineer.

▪Experience includes organizational leadership, business development, risk management, programme and project management, and technical subject matter expertise (environmental management, environmental impact assessments, mine waste management engineering i.e. tailings storage facilities and waste rock stockpiles, water treatment, mine closure and reclamation planning, climate change resilience, sustainability, circular economy initiatives).

▪Project experience is global, having worked in Africa, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, South America and North America.

▪Undergraduate degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering, a Post-graduate Diploma in Mining Engineering (focused on the impacts of mining on the environment), and professional certificates in Strategic Leadership and Management, Sustainable Development Strategy, Global Environmental Management, Sustainable Development Goals, Circular Economy Business Strategy, Project Management, and Macroeconomics.

▪Active professional participant within the mining and metals industry as a panel speaker, external reviewer, and working group participant. Examples include:
•Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA) – Expert Working Groups (Financial Assurance for Mine Reclamation and Closure, Mining and Circular Economy, Mine Waste Management)
• Panel speaker at Minerals Outlook Dialogue, hosted by Natural Resources Canada, Mining Association of Canada, and the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada
• Panel speaker at the British Columbian Ministerial Advisory Panel on Responsible Mining Markets
• Panel speaker at the World Circular Economy Forum Conference
• Panel speaker at the Industrial Circular Economy Conference

▪Registered Professional Engineer in Canada (British Columbia) and South Africa.

▪Well established network within mining and sustainability industries.

▪Passionate about sustainability, applications of circular economy principles in mining and across industries, industrial ecology, green energy transition, innovation, adding value, helping solve real world problems, identifying opportunities that enable exponential progress rather than only incremental progress (80/20 principle).
