Remi Piet is Senior Partner at Embellie Advisory, a boutique consultancy founded in Doha, Qatar in 2013 that channels equity investments and de-risks natural resources projects in key jurisdictions (Americas, Africa, Europe and Middle East). 

Embellie Advisory provides above-the-ground risk analyses and implements ESG strategy, local content solutions as well as community/stakeholders agreements facilitation to ensure the social license to operate of energy and mining operations and exploration projects. Embellie also works with a select range of institutional investors and family offices from the Middle East and beyond on counterparty risk assessments and investment strategy. 

Prior to leading Embellie Advisory, Remi held successful tenures at the Energy Finance division of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) as well as at several universities (HEC Paris, Qatar University, University of Miami). Remi has worked on projects in more than 60 countries, designing ESG strategies, community suppliers programs and local content capacity building initiatives. He is a published author in the field of energy security and local content development.

Remi received a PhD in Political Economy from the University of Miami, a MBA and a MA in International Development from Universite Laval (Quebec, Canada) and a Masters in Economics from Universite Paris La Sorbonne.

Embellie Advisory operates in key energy jurisdictions around the world, with regional offices in Maputo, Doha, Paris, Miami and Lima. Embellie Advisory’s senior executives regularly advise global companies in the step-by-step implementation of their strategy in emerging markets, ensuring the sustainable integration of their operations, among communities and together with local political and economic actors.

Embellie Advisory (EA) tailors its consulting services to help companies meet the challenges they face in Emerging Markets (license to operate, risk assessment, stakeholder management, consortium management), translating their international ambitions and goals into concrete sustainable achievements and security of supply.
